Children get Sores from poisoned river

Children from Rivers View, Falmouth, Aliki, Morashee, St. Marys. Monkey Jump, Aga Tash, Mahouria, Bartica, Saxacalli and other villages downstream from the Omai gold mine in Guyana, suffer from persistent sores, diarrhea, and other health problems. This is as a result of the ongoing toxic discharge of cyanide and heavy metals from the huge mining plant, into the Essequibo, the largest river in guyana (see map)and the lifeblood for all riverain communities who are dependent on the river for food, water, transportation, washing, bathing, etc.(see photos)
