In 1993, a Hip Hop Artist/Prophet created one of the most important cd's of the 1990's on an independent conscious label called Elijah Records. The Hip Hop Artist/Prophet is CHANI ALLAH, and the name of the disc is SUPREME TEACHER.
Unfortunately, the cd is now nearly impossible to find, as far i can see. If anyone can find a copy of it (or even the cassette), grab it up. It contains a classic Hip Hop piece called "Lesson of the Hour." It is a classic in the way that ras kass' "Nature of the Threat" is a Hip Hop classic. CHANI ALLAH's track was the first piece of Hip Hop Art (the first i had ever heard anyway) to describe YAKUB's creation of the whiteman (a.k.a, caucasoid, devil, albino, mortal, etc.) -- you know, the story originally taught by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and African-american cultures such as the 5% Nation.
Once again, if anyone has the good fortune of running across SUPREME TEACHER by a Conscious Brother/Prophet named CHANI ALLAH, grab it ...by any means necessary (buy it, i mean)! Soon, you'll be able to listen to the track, "Lesson of the Hour," right here on the urafrican hip hop links page.
