urafricanHOTEPWelcome to urafrican. This website is designed to aid your navigation of the Afrocentric web. While there are many people who are in opposition to Afrocentrism's claims, it is not the purpose of this website to point them out to you - indeed, they can be found easily enough..they are everywhere. Look anywhere and you'll find that the heroes who save the day are white. If you believe the claim that the so-called white race is superior and that europe is the center of the civilisation, it is likely that this is not the site for you. If however you are open-minded enough to consider the belief that the universe began and ended with, and revolves around, the continent of Africa, stay tuned. urafrican promises to offer convincing resources which point to the Mother of Civilisation as being decidedly non-Western. The idea of an African-centered universe is of course not new. Marcus Garvey led the 20th century movement towards emphasizing Africa's greatness, to be followed by Carlos Cooks (the man who coined the term, "Buy Black"). The late Dr. John Henrik Clarke introduced america and the world to an African-centered view of history that has profoundly changed the landscape of history and forced anthropology and other disciplines to admit to the Black African-ness of humanity's past. Now as we end the century/millenium, a catalog of Afrocentric thinkers has evolved to counter the intellectual terrorism the so-called eurocentrics unleashed on Drs. Clarke and others. Dr. Runoko Rashidi, for one, has introduced us in oftentimes shocking detail the role that so-called whites in India have played in silencing the voices of civilisation's Forefathers and Mothers. Attorney/historian Dr. Legrand Clegg has offered an insightful series, When Black Men Ruled the World, that details Africa's contributions to the world in the pre-eurotyrannical age. One of the best resources of Afrocentrism is ironically the same book that the so-called europeans have used for centuries to attempt to silence the African: the Bible. Try the African Heritage Bible if you want to read it how it was originally written. The publisher of this monumental achievement has not altered the King James text; rather he has highlighted the many, many passages that point to the African-ness of the Prophets and, yes, of Jesus Christ himself. Islam has played a great role in bringing Africa back to the forefront in the latter half of this century. The Nation of Islam as lead by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, and currently the Honorable Louis Farrakhan, can certainly be applauded for compelling the Original Man to reclaim his magnificent and divine heritage. The Five Parts of Man offers a definition of that divine heritage from the perspective of a member of the 5% Nation. The Lost/Found Nation of Islam under the direction of the Honorable Silis Muhammad has succeeded in bringing the demands for African self-determination to the United Nations, nearly a century after Mr. Garvey's initial battle cry. Reparations (remember "40 acres and a mule"?) is still the word. Why Reparations? Naysayers will rethink their opposition when they visit the African American Holocaust Museum. The blood sweat and tears of generations of the Africans who built America cry out for it. So-called white supremacists of course have denied any significant African contributions to this nation and world. The evidence, however, of African contributions in science, mathematics and art is irrefutable. And beautiful. Now, thanks to the African men and women referenced above, nearly every college in the nation has a Black Student Union, an African/African-american studies department and a multicultural requirement at the undergrad level. The Truth has arisen and there's no stopping it. The Afrocentric voice is loud and clear, shouting: No matter who you are, just remember: u r african!
